Your motorcycle engine
needs the correct amount of air and fuel to run
efficiently. This ratio is called “Air-Fuel”
ratio. With the correct Air/Fuel ratio the engine
will produce the optimum power and economy. Modern
motorcycle engines are equipped with sensors to
monitor many parameters and conditions and an ECU
to convert this information into a signal to send
off to your fuel injectors to supply the fuel that
is needed at any given throttle position. In most
cases, this ratio is from 12.8:1 to 13.3:1 for
best power and from 14.0:1 to 14.5:1 for economy.
A dynamometer is an
essential tool for realising the full potential
of today’s fuel injected motorcycles fitted with
performance modifications. We can accurately
measure, with the use of the Dyno’s inbuilt
equipment, the Air/Fuel ratio or diagnose
reliability issues in a controlled environment.
Fitting
a Power Commander into the system now gives you
the ability to adjust your motorcycles air/ fuel
ratio and in some models ignition timing to help
over come problems created by fitting
performance modifications or even ride-ability
issues.
With a Power Commander
fitted many other accessories can be added to
the system like:
A quick shift module for clutch less up
shifting.
A map switch can be fitted to some
models to change fuel maps.
